Mm; it's really good for peace and quiet. It's easy to forget how much noise there is, until it's all gone.

Yeah. It's not like the Great Outdoors is totally quiet, but it's a really different kind of noise, y'know?

Mm...hm. Less busy, I guess.

Yeah. Nowhere near as constant.

Maybe the ocean will be a little like that, too...

Probably even less. I mean, there's no birds or bugs or leaves for the wind to pass through, right?

...well, there's always still birds. Just different ones.

Oh, no, there's plenty of birds out at sea—often good swimmers, ones with special adaptations to spending most of their time offshore. I mean, I'm not an expert, I just know someone who's really into... the ocean.

Oh, huh. That's pretty neat. The more you know, I guess. I guess they don't have much to worry about if all of the predators are underwater.

Ah, yeah, and they can usually swim to catch fish and algae, I think. There's really very busy in the ocean, it's just, you know...
...ah, sorry, I've been off-topic. Most of this I learned from, er, I guess most people would know her as Monster Siren?

I don't know her, but it's an... interesting Nom de Plume. So she specializes in birds and the ocean? Is she with your Family?

Mostly just the ocean in general, and... er, no, she's signed to Sirens' Melodies, actually. We just know each other from. Elsewhere.

Really? I barely know anyone.
Were you expecting to just get away from it all for a bit?

A bit. But—really?
I mean, I guess I "know" a lot of people who've taken my classes at university, at least.

Oh? You're a teacher? One of my old high school teachers is on this cruise. They're one of, like, three people I know here.
Sounds like some people know
everyone
, though.

Probably... I mean, I think I'm the only one who primarily goes for the coffee.
[ and also people usually don't try to talk to her when she's paying attention to cats. that's a plus ]
